From airport pickup to the final dinner, you do nothing but the experience itself. We are on every trail with you.

How you travel.

The single most useful question we ask. We design from your taste, not from a brochure.
For some it is thread count. For others it is the absence of strangers. For us, it is what you tell us it is.

Internal flights in small aircraft
Some routes — the Osa Peninsula, Tortuguero — are a 45-minute hop or a six-hour drive. Worth knowing your preference.
Photography during the trip
A dedicated photographer is included on every expedition. Your call always wins; you may review any image before it is used publicly.

Is a bespoke journey private?
Yes — your group only, whether that is two of you or a multi-generational family. We never combine parties: twin or shared rooms exist only for guests who book together, never for strangers.
What does a bespoke Costa Rica trip cost?
You anchor the budget yourself on the inquiry form — ground cost per person, excluding international flights, from $5K to $60K+. The 20-minute call refines it, and the draft you receive within 7 days is costed transparently, with named lodges and real distances.
How does the process work?
Three steps. Tell us how you travel. Within 7 days, receive a costed draft itinerary we revise together until it is right. Then arrive — from airport pickup to the final dinner, we handle everything on the ground, and we are on every trail with you.
Who designs the itinerary?
Esteban Umaña, the founder — bespoke journeys have been his craft since 2017. Nothing is recommended that we have not run, ridden, or slept in ourselves.
What languages do you guide in?
We correspond and guide fluently in English and Spanish, and can arrange guides in French, German, Portuguese, or Italian on request.
