Journey Highlights

Crafted for riders who crave adrenaline without compromising on comfort. 

Two luxury hubs: Santa Teresa (Mal País) and Tamarindo

Tackle the Queen Stage, a 70 km Nicoya traverse from Lepanto to Montezuma

Ride point-to-point days: Lepanto→Santa Teresa, Nosara→Tamarindo, and Tamarindo→Las Catalinas

Flowing singletrack polished trails around Hacienda Pinilla

Full support: vehicle leap-frog, mechanical assistance, and on-route snack/aid stops

Seamless finish: fly back to San José on Day 8; Day 9 unplanned for departures

Itinerary

Day 1 — Saturday, January 23 | Arrive in San José

Arrive in Costa Rica’s vibrant capital, where you are welcomed and transferred to your hotel. The afternoon is yours to rest and assemble bikes with guide assistance.

At 17:00, meet your expedition leader and fellow riders in the hotel lobby for the welcome briefing, followed by a relaxed welcome dinner.

Day 2 — Sunday, January 24 | Lepanto to Santa Teresa

After breakfast, shuttle to Lepanto and begin a 55 km ride across the Nicoya backcountry. Expect ranch roads, jungle doubletrack, short singletrack connectors, and a few river crossings before rolling into Santa Teresa by the beach.

Day 3 — Monday, January 25 | Queen Stage: Lepanto to Montezuma

Return to Lepanto for the 70 km Queen Stage, a point-to-point traverse ending at Montezuma. Ridge views, rural villages, and a fast coastal approach to finish. Celebrate at the falls, then shuttle 30–40 minutes back to Santa Teresa.

Day 4 — Tuesday, January 26 | Santa Teresa Coastal & Forest Loop

A 35 km loop linking Mal País shoreline tracks, forested climbs toward the Cabo Blanco sector, and flowing ranch-road returns. Beach swim finish.

Included Meals: Breakfast (snacks and aid stations provided during the ride)

Accommodation: Santa Teresa

Optional Activities: Private surf lesson; restorative yoga.

Day 5 — Wednesday, January 27 | Nosara to Tamarindo

Dawn transfers to Nosara for a 65 km point-to-point ride north to Tamarindo. Mix of dirt/gravel ridgelines and coastal connectors with short paved links. Check into your Tamarindo resort.

Accommodation: Tamarindo

Day 6 — Thursday, January 28 | Tamarindo to Las Catalinas

Roll out from Tamarindo on a 35 km point-to-point to Las Catalinas (Playa Danta) via village backroads, ranch tracks, and quiet lanes through Huacas–Matapalo–Brasilito–Potrero.

Lunch in the car-free town, then shuttle back to the Tamarindo base.

Day 7 — Friday, January 29 | Tamarindo Loop

A polished 25 km finale on coastal trails and backroads around Hacienda Pinilla toward Avellanas/Langosta.

Accommodation: Tamarindo

Optional Activities: Massage or spa session; sunset catamaran.

Day 8 — Saturday, January 30 | Return to San José & Farewell Dinner

Fly back to San José this morning and enjoy a leisurely afternoon at your hotel or exploring the capital’s lively cafés and markets.

In the evening, toast your achievement with a festive farewell dinner.

Day 9 — Sunday, January 31 | Departure

Enjoy a final Costa Rican breakfast before your transfer to the airport.
